Has anyone ever done development towards the game pipeline rendering aswell as work on lighting/Shadows for the game?
a few years back i tried to experiment around with the general game rendering, but i obviously stumbeled upon a million issues with the limitations of how the pipeline worked and such.

Anyone made any cool developments over the years with this kind of stuff?

Shadows are indeed possible but for that you would need DX9 (DirectX), I have seen a few servers like Pirates Online & Kraken Online that has them, a few months ago I have started migrating from DX8 to DX9, and with that create a shadow map, this is the result:)1769478553464.webp
